Russia's foreign ministry said on Thursday that the recent unrest in Kazakhstan is a foreign-inspired attempt to undermine the country's state security by force, according to Russian media.
"We consider the recent events in a friendly country to be a foreign-inspired attempt to use armed and trained groups of people forcibly to undermine the security and integrity of the state," a statement from Russian foreign ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.

Russia would consult with Kazakhstan and other allies in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) on possible further moves to support a "counterterrorist" operation there and unblock critical infrastructure, the spokesperson added.
In a similar tone, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday that foreign intelligence services are behind the ongoing mass riots in Kazakhstan. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko also suggested that the events in many Kazakh cities were coordinated and planned.
"Everything happened synchronously. Everything was pre-planned. In terms of coordination, the external interference is obvious," Lukashenko said.

Brasilianska vänsterjournalisten Pepe Escobar gästpostar hos pro-ryska bloggaren "Saker". Han är inte helt säker på sina källor. Vi kan läsa följande;
Citat:
The first source was explicit: the whole Kazakh adventure is being sponsored by MI6 to create a new Maidan right before the Russia/US-NATO talks in Geneva and Brussels next week, to prevent any kind of agreement. Significantly, the “rebels” maintained their national coordination even after the internet was disconnected.
The second source is more nuanced: the usual suspects are trying to force Russia to back down against the collective West by creating a major distraction in their Eastern front, as part of a rolling strategy of chaos all along Russia’s borders. That may be a clever diversionary tactic, but Russian military intel is watching. Closely. And for the sake of the usual suspects, this better may not be interpreted – ominously – as a war provocation.
