PRIŠTINA -- Kosovo's Prime Minister Hashim Thaci says a decision to ban Serb representatives from entering Kosovo remains in force.
Those prohibited from entering the province, according to this, are the officials who "do not respect Kosovo's constitutional order".
"This is only the beginning. Laws will be respected in Kosovo. Serbia should forget about Kosovo," Thaci told Albanian language daily express on Sunday, commenting on a decision to ban Minister for Kosovo Goran Bogdanović's entry into the territory.
Kosovo police, KPS General Director Sermet Ahmeti told another daily, Koha Ditore, that "the same measure, stopping or arresting", can apply to President Boris Tadić, "if he tries to enter Kosovo".
"All those visiting Kosovo, not as ordinary citizens, must have agreement from the Kosovo government," he said.
The newspaper says police got orders to arrest Bogdanović in case he refused the ban, because "he did not explain the reasons for his visit".
Thaci's deputy Hajredin Kuci said that the same measures would be applied in the future towards other Serbian officials.
"We will be careful and look at the agendas of their visits and whether they are in contravention to the legal order. We have been sufficiently patient," said he.
Yesterday, Beta news agency reported that RTK, a television outlet in Priština, quoted its international community sources who said that it was Brussels who suggested to the Kosovo Albanian authorities that they should introduce the ban on Serbian officials.
This is reportedly related to the treatment the EU representative in Belgrade was recently subjected to by Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić.
