Palantir has been described as the company that "knows everything about you" and its software is used by government surveillance agencies around the world for spying purposes.
Soros Fund Management announced this week that it "does not approve of Palantir's business practices."
SFM [Soros fonder] made this investment at a time when the negative social consequences of big data were less understood," the company said in a statement, adding that "SFM would not make an investment in Palantir today."

China to Restrict Tesla Use by Military and State Employees
SINGAPOREChinas government is restricting the use of Tesla Inc.s vehicles by military staff and employees of key state-owned companies, citing concerns that data the cars gather could be a source of national-security leaks, according to people familiar with the effort.
Chinese officials said raised concerns because Tesla vehicles cameras can record images constantly, the people said, and obtain data including when, how and where the vehicles are being used as well as the contact lists of mobile phones synced to them.
Tesla vehicles have eight surround cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors and a radar supporting a driver-assistance system called Autopilot, the company said on its website. The Model 3 and Model Y vehicles also have a camera inside the cabin, installed above the rearview mirror.
